Supporting Nicholas Plant Hire with a Complete IT Refresh

This week, we had the opportunity to assist Nicholas Plant Hire with a comprehensive upgrade to their IT setup—improving performance, security, and day‑to‑day efficiency across their operations.

To support their growing needs, we supplied and installed two new desktop PCs: one for the main office and another for home use. Each system was delivered with a 22″ monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a full set of surge‑protected and APC‑backed power solutions to ensure stable, reliable performance.

Data & Email Migration

A key part of the project involved migrating data from the previous office PC. We also transferred legacy email archives from both the main system and an older machine. This required converting historic Thunderbird MBOX files into PST format before uploading them safely to their online mail platform—bringing all communication into one accessible, modern environment.

Software Setup & System Restorations

We reinstalled essential software including their Tacho application, ensuring continuity for their operational requirements. Access to the CCTV system was also restored using updated viewing software, achieved through coordination with the CCTV provider.

Printer Relocation & Configuration

Two onsite printers were relocated and reconfigured—one through a print server and the other using a USB extension lead—to keep their document management workflow running smoothly.

Enhanced Security with BitDefender

Both new PCs were equipped with BitDefender Endpoint Security, giving Nicholas Plant Hire robust, modern protection against cyber threats.
